1. Introduction

School Ready Kids Ltd is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk. Safeguarding is central to all services we provide, including SEND leadership support, advisory work, assessments, training and therapeutic or reintegration services.

This Safeguarding Policy Statement sets out our commitment to protecting individuals from harm and ensuring that safeguarding concerns are recognised, responded to and managed appropriately.


2. Legislation and Guidance

School Ready Kids Ltd works in accordance with current safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance, including but not limited to:

  • Children Act 1989 and 2004

  • Care Act 2014

  • Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023)

  • Keeping Children Safe in Education (current version)

  • Information Sharing: Advice for Practitioners (2024)

  • After-school clubs, community activities and tuition: safeguarding guidance (2023)

We also have regard to guidance issued by:

  • The Department for Education

  • Local Safeguarding Children Partnerships

  • The NSPCC

  • The Ann Craft Trust (safeguarding adults)


3. Purpose of This Statement

The purpose of this safeguarding statement is to:

  • Protect children, young people and adults at risk who receive services from School Ready Kids Ltd

  • Provide clear safeguarding principles that underpin all our work

  • Ensure safeguarding concerns are managed consistently, lawfully and effectively

  • Support safe professional practice across leadership, advisory and child-focused services


4. Our Commitment

School Ready Kids Ltd is committed to:

  • Creating and maintaining a safe environment where individuals feel respected, listened to and protected

  • Recognising signs and indicators of abuse, neglect, exploitation and emotional harm

  • Acting promptly and proportionately where safeguarding concerns arise

  • Ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are understood and upheld in all professional contexts

  • Working collaboratively with schools, local authorities and statutory agencies

All work is carried out in a professional, ethical and child-centred manner.


5. Safeguarding Practice and Procedures

School Ready Kids Ltd will:

  • Maintain up-to-date safeguarding knowledge through regular training and professional development

  • Conduct all interactions in a safe, appropriate and professional way

  • Follow the safeguarding policies and procedures of any contracting school, college, trust or organisation

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of safeguarding concerns and actions taken

  • Share information on a need-to-know basis, in line with information-sharing guidance

  • Store personal and sensitive data securely, in accordance with UK GDPR and professional standards


6. Reporting and Responding to Concerns

If a safeguarding concern is identified, School Ready Kids Ltd will:

  • Act promptly and in the best interests of the individual

  • Record concerns, decisions and actions clearly and factually

  • Report concerns to the appropriate agency, which may include:

    • Children’s or Adult Social Care

    • The Designated Safeguarding Lead within a school or organisation

    • The police, where there is immediate risk of harm

  • Cooperate fully with any safeguarding enquiries or investigations

Safeguarding responsibilities override confidentiality where there is a risk of harm.


7. Working With Organisations

When working with schools, colleges, trusts or local authorities, School Ready Kids Ltd will:

  • Adhere to the organisation’s safeguarding and whistleblowing procedures

  • Clarify reporting routes at the outset of the work

  • Work collaboratively with Designated Safeguarding Leads and senior leaders

  • Escalate concerns appropriately where necessary


8. Confidentiality and Information Sharing

School Ready Kids Ltd recognises the importance of confidentiality but understands that safeguarding concerns must be shared where:

  • There is a risk of harm

  • Disclosure is required by law

  • It is necessary to protect a child, young person or adult at risk

Information is shared proportionately, lawfully and in line with statutory guidance.


9. Review and Monitoring

This Safeguarding Policy Statement is reviewed annually, or sooner if there are changes to legislation, guidance or organisational practice.

School Ready Kids Ltd confirms its commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk, and to ensuring that safeguarding is embedded in all aspects of our work.
